A master's job is
never done, it lives on through the ages.
The annual Installation of Officers was held in a closed meeting on December 15, 1983. This was Worshipful Master Richard Matthews second time through as the Master of the Lodge so the fanfare was cut. Refreshments were served after the Installation.
In January the Lodge voted to purchase sympathy and get well cards and to send to them to our ailing brethren.
It was also noted that on December 21, 1983 Bro. Frank Tillman, Past Master of Clovis Lodge, passed away. Bro. Tillman had been sick for many years with kidney trouble. Kind words spoken were, "He was one of the finest men I have ever come to know, and will surely be missed by his many friends."

In April the Worshipful Master read a report about the actor, Danny Thomas, who was in the process of receiving his degrees of Masonry in New Jersey without getting a waiver of jurisdiction from the Grand Lodge of California, thereby severing all fraternal relations with the Grand Lodge of New Jersey for continuing their actions.
In September it was decided by motion and vote to purchase 50 Masonic Widows pins. At the Roll Call Dinner in December there were 9 25-year pins handed out to deserving brethren.
At the stated meeting in December Worshipful Bro. Charles Bersani presented a 50 year pin the Bro. Terrill O. Glenn, Past Master of Clovis Lodge. Bro. Also in lieu of a Past Masters Jewel, Bro. Matthews took a monetary award.
Brethren who were lost to death in this year were Bro's. Harry Mitchell Johnson, Frank Tillman PM, Fres Thomas Hedges and Gordon Shelby Thacker.
